The Oakland International Airport did not break any laws or regulations when it denied 200 Marines and soldiers access to the passenger terminal during a layover last year from Iraq to the troops' home base in Hawaii, the Transportation Department says.

January 29, 2008

The Marines in Berkeley have got to go. That's the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."

I mean, what planet are these: tree hugging, marijuana dispensing machine nuts living on? It figures didn’t the Vietnam protests start in California? I remind these dog shit for brains left wingers that these service men and women are the reason we can enjoy the freedoms we have. This includes the freedom to be a moron. The people of Berkley and the Authorities at Oakland airport should be kissing the ground these fine men and woman walk on not pissing on them.

OK people, I have solved the mystery. I took the NASA Mars Rover picture that's been making the rounds of the Internet and national news broadcasts and enhanced it to the point where the faint sculpture like object is seen clearer.

I now think he is doing all this as revenge for loosing the election. Hell, we should have let him be president. Maybe he days would be filled with, fighting terrorists, fighting inflation, and fighting republicans. Leaving little if no time to devote to global warming.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Cow burps might affect global warning. A Swedish university is getting nearly $600,000 to study the environmental impact of bovine belching. Researchers at the Swedish University for Agricultural Sciences (in Uppsala) will have the cattle eat differing diets. The cows will then wear an electronic device to measure the amount of methane gas around them. Methane is a greenhouse gas scientists believe contributes to global warming. The researchers note 95 percent of methane released by cows comes out the front end. The Swedish government funds the study.

THE GREAT RESOLVE

January 2nd…. The holidays behind us.
As we go back to the business of our lives it seems about everyone I meet asks me the age-old question.
What is your new year’s resolution?
Well, my answer has been the same year after year. NONE
For you see I resolved sometime in the 1980’s never to make any more new years resolutions. To this day, I have not strayed from it. I always keep that new years resolution faithfully.

Most people don’t understand why resolutions are so difficult to keep. Weather it is; I’L loose weight, I’L quit smoking, I’ll stop cheating on my wife and taxes. The reason is simple. A resolution seems like such great idea around the end of November and beginning of December and reaches a fever pitch on the 31st after several cocktails. Now when the New Year hits our resolutions wane with the passing days. By the end of January there are all but gone. Too difficult to keep. We are creatures of habit however New Year’s resolutions are habit we just can’t seem to keep.
